I remember going on a ride at Epcot in the early 90's, where you rode around and saw the history of language. From cave men in the past to Parchment from Egypyt printing presses and then the future.... Computers. They showed how in the future we would have table top computers and we could see each other and talk. And it showed a mother across the world, maybe it was another world, talking to her kids going to bed. And I remember thinking COOL. If only that was now instead of years away, possibly decades.
Its been a reality for quite a few years now and I still remember the first time I rode the ride and was in ore. I am still amazed at the accuracy of Disney.
We first went to Disney World with my Mum and my Mother in-law ( we'll call her Mum 2). Our son was 2 years old and we flew to Orlando on his 2nd birthday. We flew into Miami and stayed one night there. I was petrified because at the time there were tourist muggins in Miami. But we had the best holiday of a lifetime.......... and thats where it all began. Less than 10 years after coming to Florida we moved from our small 2 up 2 down in London and started a life in Florida.................
